The incumbents will provide consultative feedback and management on patients referred from other sections of the hospital and/or affiliated VA outpatient clinics, and perform administrative functions and other tasks as assigned by the Chief of Pulmonary/Critical Care. Physicians would participate as valued chairpersons or members on committees that impact the hospital delivery of care. The incumbents are expected to provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and treatment of disease. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the health care team. The incumbents are expected to adhere to stated policies and provide timely documentation of clinical notes and timely interpretation and closure of diagnostic reports, consults, and clinic encounters. In addition, the incumbents are expected to coordinate and communicate the treatment plan with Hospitalists, Primary Care Providers, nursing staff, social workers, clerical staff, pharmacy and other sub-specialists and ancillary staff. The ideal candidates will help to ensure that the highest quality patient care is delivered in a resourceful and efficient manner.
