You Will Be Responsible For:

• Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.
• Demonstrates the ability to access department and medical center information
• Performs polysomnography procedures according to physician orders, department policy/procedure, and patient care plan.
• Demonstrates ability to adapt EEG ,ECG, EMG ,Legs, Snore Mic and Thermistor equipment to patient and obtain quality data
• Assessment and intervention reflect consideration of family/work roles and obligations to our adult patients
• Explain modification of teaching strategies to accommodate decreased vision, hearing or mental status to our geriatric patients
• Explain considerations necessary for the care of our bariatric patients
• Explain considerations necessary for care of the COPD patient suspected of chronic hybercarbia.
• Understand the medical center’s process when a non-English speaking patient comes in to have a sleep study.
• Follows the “Standard of Behavior guidelines according to hospital policy.
• Practices A.I.D.E.T (Acknowledge,Introduced,Duration,Explain,and Thank) with all patients, family members, physicians, co-workers and all disciplines to ensure quality care.
• Performs thorough patient assessment and takes appropriate action when necessary according to Department policy/procedure manual
• Attend in-services,
• Obtains, assists with, and seeks polysomnography educational /informational opportunities,
• Must participate in an average of 10 hours per year of AMA PRA Category 1 or CEC sleep-related Educational activities over a three year period
• When scoring strive to reach reliability scores > than 95% per AASM standards.
• Uses hospital equipment, supplies, and resources responsibly, maintains organized workflow, and notifies Lead, Polysomnographer if equipment/staffing concerns develop,
• Follows procedures for correct billing/documentation of services provided,
• Strive to help stay within department monthly budget.
• Maintains confidentiality and promotes the dignity of customers and associates.
• Reports to work, and is on time, when scheduled
• Team approach is followed so customer service maintains a score of 95% or better,
