This month's Journal Club is # 36: OSA and Depression. The module provides a discussion of an article by Gupta and Simpson on the relationship between OSA and psychiatric disorders. The discussion includes exploration of cause and effect and a model of "feed forward" reactions that appear to worsen symptoms of both disorders.
Our Case of the Month is # 5: Sleep Onset Without Alpha Rhythm. This case involves a patient that has a sleep study that shows both respiratory events and periodic limb movements. She also has no alpha rhythm. The definition of sleep onset in patients without alpha rhythm is reviewed.
